Dr. Ambegaonkar earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Mumbai, India, followed by a Master of Applied Science from Springfield College in Massachusetts, and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in Virginia.
Dr. Ambegaonkar founded Orthocare and brings over 28 years of physical therapy experience across outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinics, hospital settings, and cardiac and physical rehabilitation. She specializes in orthopedic and musculoskeletal pain, back and hip pain, sports injuries, and dance medicine. She is certified in Functional Trigger Point Dry Needling (FDN) treatment intervention.
Dr. Ambegaonkar is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, providing specialized care for patients managing lymphedema and related conditions.
She is also a PORi Certified Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist, offering specialized rehabilitation support for patients navigating breast cancer treatment and recovery.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Ambegaonkar has previously served on the faculty of the Athletic Training Education Program at George Mason University and is on the Advisory Board for Kinesiology program at George Mason University. She has directed research programs, presented at professional conferences, and published in peer-reviewed journals. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and holds ACSM certifications as an Exercise Specialist and Health & Fitness Instructor.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ambegaonkar enjoys music, traveling, painting, and spending time with her family.

**Dr. Ambegaonkar is a direct access physical therapy provider (i.e. can treat patients for 14 days without a physician referral) and is certified in functional trigger point dry needling and specializes in treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal pain.
